k series into 94-97 accord
What is everthing that i need to know and every part i need to buy to have a k series set up in my 95 accord, right now it has an jdm H22a...? lemme know, thanks
you really wanna swap out that engine? hmmm...
anyways... i dont think ive heard of a mounting kit for it... if your thinking about the k24a4, then like he said, its not really worth it... unless you opt for the k24a2... that engine is pretty badass... but still...

First off, is there that much of a power diference between the H@@ you have and the K series you want to install? (Been out of the loop for a while on engine specs)
Second start comparing the torque curves of the engines. For get HP, its just a number, torque is what you feel. Where does each unit start making torque? The lowe the torque curve starts and the flatter it stays, the more enjoyable the engine power will be.
Third, compare gear ratios of the transmissions. One engine might make less torque, but make up for that in gearing. Gearing does help by torque multiplication, but the engine is still the provider of torque.
I think that your current engine is good. If you need more power, add NOS or a turbo. There are more parts available for the H22 and overall it is probably cheaper to mod than the newer K series.

OK...the best angry n00b *** answer goes to...
You're just mad that your technology is outdated
On k20a.org you'll see some incredible power on K24s out of basically nothing, you get a lot more for your money AFTER you get the motor. As soon as a mount kit is out and it's feasible, it would probably be the best option for the serious builder.

dude dont ever call me a noob. wtf. and wat fucken type of motor u have. wtf. seriously man so u want to spend more money in the k series because it is newer and there aint LOTS of parts out for it. there is a h22a motor hitting almot 1k hp thats more than fucken enough. go research then come talk ***
rofl waffles, i don't think you get to 5400 posts without knowing possibilities, you have to face the facts that the h22 is becoming an older motor and the k series have been having amazing results, they just haven't been fully tapped for the cd5 accords yet. The K series ITR and civic swaps are amazing. I'm curious to see your h22a motor at 1k hp that isn't built up like crazy. You could probably buy 20 k swaps for the amount of money they put into reinforcing that motor
There's nothing wrong with an H, it's just an older motor and it's EASIER to make more power out of a K series for less. I'm picking on you because you're soo butt hurt an unable to think beyond your own motor because youre so damn proud of it.
Heres a few builds I found in about a minute of searching on K20a.org:
96 civic hatchback
k24a4 stock sleeve block
stock crank
CP 12.5:1 87mm
IB ultralite rods
IPS Kme cams
Eibach EVS
STR 70mm TB
RBC Mani
SSR tri-y
RC 440s
Thermal 3" exhaust
Net total: 276 hp, 199 tq.
One guy who compared two types of HEADER ONLY has a dyno chart that has:
15-18hp midrange jump, 3 peak hp gain, 35ft tq gain.
#3:
I just got my car dynoed this weekend the setup is:
K24a2 Stock Block (K20 oil pump)
K24a2 Head
Supertech Flat-Faced valves
Eibach EVS springs and retainers
IPS K2 Stroker Cams
TWM 52mm ITB's
Portmatched ITB's (Big thanks to Chris at Intec Racing)
SSR Header to Full 3" Exhaust
KPro
253.5 hp, 203 tq.
I'm not here to bench race, i'm just here to show you that with minimal effort on these engines, they make a LOT of power. You just need to pull your head out and admit there's something better than the H series. And that's a 7.0 liter RWD Corvete Z06
As soon as you see these available for CD5s, anyone with a big pocket will be doing it. There's a LOT of stuff out there for K series nowadays, not like a few years ago when it was first out.

Just because you have an H22 swapped into your car doesn't make you an expert. Besides, many times you can tell a person is a noob not by what they say, but HOW they say it. In your case, it's both...

That's a pretty immature response...
Please take your own advice and do some research. And if you want people to take you seriously, drop the holier-than-thou attitude, the obscenities, and the name-calling. Act like a clueless, close-minded, immature teenager who thinks they know everything *hint, hint*, and you will be flamed, laughed at, and generally not taken seriously at all.
I've helped out with an all-motor K-series build. I was there for the before and after dynos and tuning. I saw the actual cost of the build. accordselux is right, the K-series simply made more power for the amount of money.
HOWEVER... For the OP, I believe it would be best to stick with his current H22... Although my opinion has nothing to do with how someone, somewhere, has an H22 that's "near 1000 hp".

u think by not haven enough post is noob. wtf. seriously. and u say its to save money. he already as a h22a inside of the car. so u want to take it out and then put the k motor in it. when u can just but a simple turbo kit. and besides the closed deck does make a difference in boosting stock. and besides im guessing no one read hasports civic. h22a with simple mods just hit 12's but its not no accord

I didnt say anything about swapping out the H already in it. The H already has strong aftermarket support. But when you work on an H you usually get a clusterfuck. A whole bunch of parts need to be upgraded to work properly, that's just how it was designed (as Phil stated). H is a good strong motor and you can do a lot with it. But K's are relatively expensive to buy, but after that, everything you put into it gives you more power for hte money. I've seen several dyno'ed H builds and one thing always leads to another.
All you do is keep slinging curse words and ignorance while I keep giving you relevant information and some examples. Post count has NOTHING to do with how smart a person is, but if i've been here for over 2 1/2 years and i've posted a lot, you might give me credit for learning a thing or two.
The biggest problem with the H is it's a dead motor. There aren't any more being made. K series are relevant and available new. In 10 years another engine will be better than the K series and the H will be a distant memory. That's how it is when technology increases.
I just wish you'd be a little more open to information instead of backing yourself into an H22 corner and running your mouth because you have one, therefore it's the greatest. I have a shitload of money I could spend on this swap and that and I've done plenty of research. It's not like I just sit here on my *** and don't even own a car. I could build a K24 NA powered EG and rip low 12's all day long because I know it's capabilities. You could probably do the same thing wiht an H but it would cost you more...

Unless your ASE certified I'd rather not hear all the bullshit about what you think know on cars; I have a friend that sounds like you and it sickens me.
Well for one to the thread starter...if you want a K series you better grab it now or just wait. Unless you're ignorant (like the aforementioned above Mr. Grand 50 posts) you've probably heard that Japan has stopped shipping K motors to the US. If I had the money right now I'd drop the Euro-R engine in my 5th gen in a heartbeat. To be ignorant to the future of automotive technology is NOT HONDA-like at all. In the future I KNOW I'll be dropping a K motor in my car; after I go through USAF training and tech school and what not I'll have plenty fun money to dump a K into my old *** green grocery getter. Triple G, O-G Honda Accord fool. I'd like to see some sort of "H-series" type block come out in the future. Even the all too common B series is going to be extinct (buy it while you still can...I know I will sooner or later).
In short I'd like to see Honda come out with a motor with torque numbers like the H in the future, equivalent to todays technological standards of course. I like torque; but for now it's the H motor for me. *is interrupted* Wtf I hear someones belt going screeching beserk.

whats up mister wonderful, hows the build going ?
To the kid running his mouth about how great the H is over the K:
Your simply wrong. The K series motor responds much better to mild modifications and even bolt ons that the H does. On a stock block and head, the K series will handle around 450 hp. If you need proof of this, feel free to post, he's located in TX and the tune was done by StOOpid Fast racing.
The whole debate on closed deck/opend deck............it realy doesnt make a substantial difference. Once those ringlands go, it over.
