Not always...

You should ALWAYS consider beefing up the engine's fuel and ignition systems when adding nitrous.

Do you know what nitrous actually does anyways? I'm not trying to flame on you... I am just curious as to what you think it actually does.

Actually if memory serves me right some people on 7thgen (i know i refer to 7thgen alot, been on there for almost 4 years soo it's kinda hard not to) were running a 50 wet shot on a stock motor and were fine (colder plugs as well I believe). It's been a while since i've seen a nitrous post so you might want to search there to make sure.

Nitrous is like enriched oxygen (though i dont remimber exatly what it is. [nitrates of oxygen?]) adding more bang too the A/F ratio. so the more u add the more u bang and bang hard enough u'll bend a rod / other severe engine damage.

i saw a dragracer CRX using the stock D16A6 make 9 seconds using a 175 shot. atfirst this sounds like the ultimate cool thing but when the car stoped it wouldent start again. it actualy streched the timing belt and left the top of the cylenders concave. basicly the motor was shot.
keep this in mind.

i dont use nitrous b/c i know i will overindulge and blow the motor. "if a little is good, alot must be better" dossent apply here.

a 50 shot is fine, just add more fuel

A zex wet kit is just about the best kit made for a 7thgen, do a little research and ull be ok.

Just get ARP headbolts, make sure ur HG is in tip top condition, and tune the hell out of it, and u should be fine.

Just as everyone's said, dont use it daily or it will become a factor on ur engines life.

I myself have been debating buying a ZEX wet kit for a while now, but the $$ just isnt there as im a student, but i think for the $400ish bucks, its well worth it as long as u do it right.

wow bro u CAN NOT compare a 50 shot to a 175, its a completely different thing, n what it does is it pushes "the certain number" pounds of turque to the engine, i say a 50 shot u would b str8 n have no problem as long as u dont use it UNLESS the have to aka a race n u losing, or u havnt used it in 2 weeks n theres a completely empty express way in front of u n u wanna have fun lol but yea 50 shot ur str8 75 shot is pushing it, and anythin 100 or more ur just askin 4 it 2 expletive u over, oh n it also depends on the setup u have it on, DO NOT do no 2 fast 4 bullshit button setup.

Neither is better, its all in the setup.

ZEX is safer off the shelf, but NOS can be made just as safe.

the reason ZEX is sooo safe is the WIndow/WOT switches,

Ur nitrous will ONLY inject between a desired RPM range, and ONLY when its at WOT( wide open throttle). The only thing the user needs to not do, is learn not to spray in 5th ( u spary to long = hard on motor)

yea thats how ur supposed to set up the spray, so it only sprays on certain rpms, example when u floor it. if u have it set up on a button(2 fast 2 furious bullshit) setup ur more than definitly gonna *** sumthin up bigtime.

THe button is just to start the spray, which u can do with any kit. U can do it with a zex kit, instead of having a WOT trigger.

1st you arm the nitrous, then you can either
A) push a button
or
B) use a WOT switch

both work fine, the WOT isjust safer, because some moron MIGHT be tempted to engage nitrous at half throttle at 2000 RPM's which is a baad thing.
