Default Coolant Lines Looped ..IACV

Ok I looped my coolant lines....block to thermo and IACV to itself and just vacumm capped the TB and FITV. Anyway the cars idles like crap for about 15 mins and then once its warmed up it seems to idle fine..just a bit higher like 100rpms. My question is can I just cap off the ends of IACV instead of looping a hose?

Hmmm...actually that makes sense there is no vacumm source i believe. But what was coolant running to it originally for....cold start ?

i run the coolant line form the thermostat housing to the IACV and then from IACV back to thermostat housing. EGR is blocked off (this was of course after the Skunk 2 IM install

idle is fine, no problems with it

But that just helps for cold start up corect...otherwise once the car is warm the coolant lines going to the IACV and FITV are useless correct ? One thing I did notice about my idle is that its idling around 1000 rpms about 300 higher than normal.

are you surprised that when you remove your cold start that your car has trouble starting in the cold?

Its called the Fast Idle Thermo Valve I didnt think it had alot to do with the actual starting more so the cold idle.

So would running coolant to the IACV help anything ? Or should I remove everything ?

Car warms up like normal, and tuns like normal.

What climate do you live in though ? Because it gets pretty cold here.

Starting in the cold w/out an FITV can be a little challenging. I don't know what your car idles at after it's warm, but my thought would be to raise your idle 2-300 rpms when the engine is warm. Then next time you cold start see if it starts up better because it will be getting some additional air. Then when Spring comes you can drop the idle back down.

Im thinking about trying it that way....but it still seems strange to me that it would trigger a CEL with the way I did it. Maybe because of the cold outside, maybe you can only loop the lines from the IACV when its warmer....idk.
