Default Civicjdmb16a Turbo SC61 85mm B16a Build

Hey everyone, i just wanted to share my recent build with everyone. Had the car since Nov 99 but never had the time or money to do a build like this. I am hoping to get 550hp to the wheels. Let me know what you think!

Engine:
B16a
Extra thick Darton Sleeves
85mm bore w/ -4cc forged pistons
Total Seal Rings
Sysc I-Beam Racing Rods with 3/8 ARP Rod Bolts
Main Line Honed
Race Port and Polish
76mm Throttle Body
Skunk2 Intake Manifold
AEM Fuel Rail
AEM Fuel Pressure regulator
Swirl Polish Valves
Multi Angle Valve Job
Diamond Milling & Resurfacing
Slightly polished Combustion Chambers
Dual Valve Springs
Titanium Retainers
GSR Cams
Adj Cam Gears
Tial 50mm BOV
Tial 44mm Wastegate
P-Fab Manifold

Ah...my turbo of choice; a SC61 w/ anti surge holes

I used a Type R oil pump and a moroso oil pan w/ rear kick out

Here she is all assembled. My old turbo is on there.(Didnt get my new one yet)

Heres the engine in the car. You can see I went with a Hydro tranny. Its from a 99 Civic Si. I had the diff welded for full time LSD.

My Wings West Kit and a 29x11x3 intercooler

This is it when it was all done.

UPDATE!!!!
I tuned with Xenocron !!!!!!!. Everything went as planned!!!!!! I hit full boost(14.5psi) @ 5200 and pulls like crazy all the way up to 9200rpm's
Wastegate is set at 14.5psi for the street and 26psi at the track with DSS stage 3.9 axles and 24.5" Hoosier slicks. We'll see what happens! I will post more pics when i can.

nice setup. I never knew you could weld your differential to make all time LSD. anyone have any pros and cons of welding it?

i take it your going to be using Vault energy drinks on your car to supplement the turbo, like in the 5th pics lol.

Really nice stuff dude.

nice.
but you do realize that a welded diff is for DRAG ONLY, because when you turn with it, you will break stuff

you would think since you spent a crazy amount of $$$ to build everything right you would just get a real LSD.

but, props on the build it should be a beast

LIMITED slip differential.

welded gears = NO slip.

A welded diff is a stupid idea for the street. An LSD does the same thing a lot better.

well this car is not gonna be used on the street that much, and i have a few friends that had the diff welded and its a little hard to drive on the street (turning is hard) but i was willing to deal with that. I never heard of breaking anything just by turning. My buddy went from a 1.9 60ft(LSD) to 1.6 60 ft w/welded diff. Its the same thing as a racing spool. Thanks for the props

Not too bad man. Nice setup

GET RID OF THE WELDED DIFF

You do know what happens if you break an axle dont you?? You go flying into the wall in the other direction at what ever speed you are going. BAD IDEA

But 550 should be capable with that turbo .. My 84mm LS setup with an ls head did 500whp on the 60-1 with 26 psi.

Im gonna guess the littles holes are for releasing pressure. Sort of a blow off valve sorta deal?

It is supposed to increase efficiency at high boost/airflow levels by not surging

Looks like a nice build. You do know that all b series vtec oil pumps are the same? The Type R uses the same one the b16a and gsr does.
