Default HELP!!!!!D16Y8 into 94 ex coupe Codes Codes Codes....

Hey guys hate to bug ya but got a few questions to see if anyone ran into these problems. I've done several b16/b18 swaps with no probs but this is my first d16y8 into a obd1 car.

1st code 10 o2 sensor I used the y8's manifold as I bought this car as a shell and extended the o2 sensor wire much like on a b16 manifold but the clips were different so I removed the clip and hard wired it with male female connectors. Now mind you I did each wire individually and did not cross them up I had my friend verify as well. I figured it could be a bad o2 sensor because the motor obviously was sprayed because I pulled the plugs and they had all the tale tale signs of a motor that was on the bottle. Any suggestions woudl be appreciated note I did have this problem with one of my jdm b16a2 but when I put my air/fuel gauge in the car the code went away?????

2nd code 43 fuel supply system out of all the swaps I've never had this code. I changed to some obd1 injectors that I had and can't get that one figured out.

3rd now this one gentlemen is a duzzy it's even got my friend at the honda dealership baffled it gives me 1 single quick flash all by itself now initially I thought this was the IAT code but since don't think so again a code i've never seen before.

Now moving on to the more interesting things from my swap. My speedo now reads about 10mph faster than what im actually going??? could this be the fact that its the obd2 speed sensor on the s40 tranny or what?

And last but not least. My tach now reads about 1000 rpm less than the motor is actually spinning? I changed the obd2 dizzy to a obd1 I had laying around however I put the coil and ignitor form the obd2 dizzy in it with new cap and rotor the reason I know this is that vtec kicks in at about 42-4400 rpm and fuel cuts off
at about 6200 rpm.

Any info on this would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Thanks for the info...Also I do know that I simply meant to refer to the "jdm" b16a2 as a reference to being second generation.

did you use one of those jumper conversion wire sets to convert the obd1 to obd2 to match the motor?

if not then which ecu are you running?

Default codes d16y8 in 94 ex coupe

I'm running a unchipped p28 ecu with the 94 harness everything connects fine I only had to extend the o2 wire this car already had a b18c in it before I bought it (without motor). Im going to play with some different injectors and pick up an obd1 o2 sensor. Ill keep ya posted.

thanks

but if you get an obd2 wire harness where is it going to connect in the firewall since its an obd1 car?

That's not my name on here

your fuel line is not delivering suffecient fuel or too much... I bet you pull the return line you will have lil to no fuel! Could also be a bad fuel regulator or inlet hose

iat is code 10 (long flash not short!) on the y8 its in the intake duct tube you will need to lenghten the wires and plug it in! as obd2 does not use the one attached the intake mani itself

What engine harness are you using? What o2 sensor are you using on some harnesses you have to run your o2 wires to the inside of the car or atleast to the engine harness plugs!

Is it possible its a chipped modded ecu you are running?

your code 1 is also o2 related "tell your honda friend to stop working on hondas" It means there's a problem with your o2 circuit! Have your "honda friend" get you flow charts and info on all your problems shouldnt be that hard to fix!

Sorry bout the honda friend thing at the dealer he has more resourses to find stuff than a lot of people and should have been able to give you troubleshooting flowcharts or somthing!
