Default car turnin off sometimes for no reason.

i drive a 97 civic ek hatch with a obd1 jdm d15b vtec swap. i have a CEL for o2 sensor and vtec selenoid. i stopped caring bout fixin this motor becuhz i put more money into fixin it so far than it was actually worth(plannin on swappin). but sometimes when i turn on my car it shuts off right after by itself. sometimes it turns on and stays on. im thinkin that my idle is too low but when i try to adjust it, it doesnt do anything and my idle still stays low. what yall think?
