PLEASE HELP!! 91 CIVIC HATCHBACK DX QUESTIONS
I just purchased a 91 civic hatchback DX and I was wondering if someone could help me with adding more horsepower to this vehicle. I want to get a turbo, but I don't think a stock engine can handle the type of power I am looking for. This is my first car I have decided to trick out and I want to fix it up a little at a time due to rent and utility bills....I am thinking people will tell me to get a vtec motor to swap with my stock, but I want to know of there is any way around that because like I said I don't have a lump sum of cash to dish out on anything other than my turbo. Basically what can I do to this car without killing it and without having to swap motors. I thank everyone in advance for any advice.
My first suggestion would be just to hang around here and read. You can turbo your current motor with low boost. There are lots of people running turbo D's. I would just see what others are doing before making a big jump.
A little turbo D's running 6-10 PSI can be a blast to drive. I would suggest first doing a PGMFI swap that way you get a better setup. Check out the FAQ in the top of this forum.
