Default Opporunity to buy a used Mugen Intake...have questions

I have an opportunity to buy a Mugen intake the for ITR. First off, I'm pretty sure it won't fit my car without cutting something since it's got a JRSC on it. The TB sits lower on the SC then it does on a stock IM. I was trying to look for the Comptech Ice Box also. I might be able to get that one, but we'll see.

Anyways, my question is, can I use a stock intake arm or any other arm and make it fit? (since I'm already assuming that it won't fit easily) He also says that the velocity stack is missing...so where can I find a stack for it or will any other stack fit? He also says it's JDM, if that makes any difference....

What I want is to feed cold air into the SC. I thought I should check here first before going to the FI section.

Thanks

Just an idea. But maybe a stock gsr intake arm will help when installing the mugen intake to the JRSC.

I'm not sure if the stock intake arm will work since you are running a Jackson SC. I used to run a Mugen Intake with a JG Intake Manifold. The stock intake arm was too long and I had to shorten it by about 2" to make it work properly. Mugen Intake =

Jim, is this looking at your engine bay from your point of view? You're a damn giant!

(yes, I can see that he's really standing on the radiator support )

I thought maybe I could buy a replacement or maybe a different stack would work.

Doh! Apparently I missed this part the first time I read your post. Are you sure it's the velocity stack that's missing, or fiberglass extension that goes into the wheel well area?

He said the stack is missing, I believe he said the filter is present. From the tiny pictures he sent me, the box and scoop look okay...

Which of the following parts is missing?

If it's the aluminum velocity stack that the filter attaches to, I wouldn't waste my time buying it. You cannot purchase any of the parts individually (except for the filter).

I haven't seen it, but I'm assuming the stack is the only thing missing. Maybe I won't buy this since it can't be replaced easily. How much do these intakes run brand new, I couldn't seem to find that info.

By the looks of that set-up, I dont think the ITR intake arm is going to work. You should be able to fab something up though....

Can he just cut up the gsr arm to make it fit? Since I'm not getting this Mugen, maybe I'll just get the Comptech Ice Box and make it fit...that's what I was planning on doing.

Or to be even cheaper, to get a stock intake and DIY Ice Box

Well the itr arm just came in, I was able to fit it on but the bends (due to the lower positioned TB from the jrsc) in the arm appear to be to dramatic which may compromise air turbulence.

Ill post up pix in a bit maybe you guys can give me some advice.
