Default Using Non-Honda Coolant/Antifreeze

Has anybody had any bad experiences using non-honda coolant in their RSX? Back in Feb. I had to refill my coolant and used Prestone's 50/50 Extended Life formula (it says it's silicate-free) but am wondering if I could've done any harm. The manual practically scares you into using Honda coolant but they also try to scare you into using everything Honda.

For whatever reason, the Honda cooling systems do not like silicates. As far as I know, if your replacement coolant is indded silicate free, you're good to go. BTW, don't mix green with red or orange coolant. They aren't compatable.
