uhhh are you sure you need a OBD1 dizzy? im PRETTY sure (not 100% thogh) that you can use ANY d-series Vtec dizzy with any D series head as long as the obd works with your set up, i think your Y8 dizzy will fit on it, and if it does, use the Y8 injectors aswell.

That's not a mini-me swap. A mini-me is putting a VTEC head on a non-vtec block.

Are you just doing it as a cheap replacement head? There isn't much difference between the two to really go thru all that work.

i just did a cheap swap.. y8 longblock..got rid of y7... used all the harness from the ex .. everything is fine.. vtec engadges the motor is fine... but before the motor came along my idea was to do a mini me on y7 w. the z6... so i started buying z6 head did custom P&P, turbo stage2 y8 cam ,vavles, springs ext.. so having all this item's was wondering what else do i need to get to make the right head exchange or (w.e u wana call it) i consider my self as a noob even i have some knowledge about car's...
as from the replays that i got...
all what i need is OBD1 ecu? y8 dist and injectors would be fine?
thanks in advance

You need Y8 injectors, Y8 IM, and Y8 TB. Especially the Y8 injectors because they are designed to work with the VTEC OBDII ECU. You might run lean otherwise.

leave the cam where it is, use 1 z6 headbolt where the vtec soleniod is, and the rest use y8 head bolts.

either use a dialback timing gun to set timing to 16btdc or run the z6 crank pulley or bust out the protractor and make your own timing marks.

i've seen that thread. don't worry about it. run an obd1 p28 ecu and get it tuned. When tuning, start with the p28 basemap z6 and not the p2p y8 basemap.

set timing to 16BTDC. and leave the camgear at 0

Deal with the CEL or run a chipped ECU and disable the secondary o2
