getting an ls into 15s
(I'm asking, because i went to the races today and i saw a stock ls run a 17.3, and most cars run like 16s and what not so i just want a low 15 sec. car...thanks
Rid, there are alot of factors that could involve an LS getting into the 15's.
Factor #1 is the most important. DO A SEARCH. There is enough information on here to answer your question.

ok you tell me what to type in the search box, I typed it (ls in the 1/4) also (stock ls, then went through 5 pages of NOTHING), so how about you just tell me, you could have written what the answer is, but you just keep bitchin about me not usin the search button
how bout u try goin to a different track than firebird. LSs with basic bolt ons do mid 15s elsewhere. elevation is killing u. plus when the heat comes down in boise its goin to really kill the LS. god damn ppl placin a track in the middle of the sand and tumbleweeds.

i don't have an ls yet, i said there was an ls there that ran a 17.3 and i think it was automatic
i just want to know if i can get into 15s w/ some weight reductions and i/h/e.

As soon as I did the 5-speed conversion, I instantly jumped to 15.9. I did this consistently too.
Get a 5-speed LS and CAI, and you should already be in the 15's. Header and exhaust system should make it even better.
it's actually sad, but i will be able to beat most people at the track here...my friend w/ a golf ran a 17.9 the BEST IMPORT there was a GSR that ran 14.8 the next fastest import was like 16.2. It's sad i saw some cars running 20.2 why even come out here and make an *** out of yourself
A stock LS 5 speed will run 16.0 at sea level. I've heard 3 different people say that their LS w/ I/H/E runs 15.6. I just installed my DC 4-2-1 header and ITR exhaust last night, so now I have I/H/E... I haven't run it at a track yet, but I can feel a definate improvement. I'm sure my car will do 15's now.

I'm gonna go there w/ my stock SE on May 17 see how bad I go, I'l post my times
DUDE!!!! i don't have an integra...yet. I'm 100% sure the car will be 5spd so stop saying...don't run your car up there cuz it's auto. i'm selling my accord (automatic) for the only reason that i want a 5spd.
Do the LS/VTEC conversion. You can pick up a 16A head all day long for 750(used), get PCM for the same year and model head, adapter harness, and knock sensor, and what else I don't know, and that'll get you in the 15's with intake, exhaust, and header you'll be in the 14's. Just my .02 cents
a stock ls is rated at 16.1 so a guess getting a cai could put you into the 15's, the ih/e combo should definetly put you into the 15's, im guessing about 15.8 or so.
for low 15's na, id recomend intake manifold, cams, gears, pulleys, fpr and safc (proper tuning is the key). all that could very well get you into the 14's. well im hoping anyways.

Buy a GSR!
I wish I had done a little more homework before I purchased my LS, because that extra $1000 you'd pay for a GSR over an LS is probably the cheapest 30 horspower you can buy. Insurance is a bitch, though. The LS is still a good car, and I love mine, I just have GSR envy. I have an AEM CAI and some suspension work, but unfortunately the only track within a 4-hour drive is at 6000 feet, so I'm probably doomed to high 16's or 17's no matter how good of a driver I am.

I have a 95 manual LS myself.
Ran it bone stock (at sea level) =15.9
With aem cai and timing advanced 2 deg = 15.6.
I dont know how many miles you have on you car
but remember a well maintain car will always run better times than
a can that has lots of mods that is not well maintained.
This has been my philosophy for years and it works.
A good cai/h/e setup should put you near if not at gsr times
if you are a good driver.
hope this helps.

i said it once, i said it twice. it wont happen in boise. the elevation is high, in the summer months it gets hotter than hell, even in the evening when it cools the air is still thick. even then IF u had I/H/E cam gears/ cams, ur car will idle rougher. those other couple guys r right, buy a GSR, u can do cams and ur idle will b stock, ahhh the wonder of VTEC.
