After hard brake- ABS light came on and stayed on

After hard brake- ABS light came on and stayed on
'02 CR-V
Today on my way home from work on the highway a car cut me off and I was hard on the brakes... My ABS light came on and hasn't gone off.
The light has never come on in the 2.5 years I've owned the thing- It's my wife's car and although the brakes are working fine, I don't want her to worry...
Any ideas what may have triggered it to stay on? The manual says the ABS system is shut off, but the brakes shouldn't be affected any other way.
Should I maybe go see the dealer, or is it one of those lights that comes on so I have to go for a service so Honda can charge me to reset a light?
