4 point belt install question
im planning on putting 4 points in my crx because the stock belts are **** and i was wondering of it would be ok to just drill holes in the body and reinforce the area where the brackets would bolt down
Why are the stock belts "****"? Is this a street driven car? What topics have you brought up in the search with terms like "harness" "harness install" "4 point harness"
To answer your question, someone will tell you it's ok to do what you want because it's your car. These same people will tell you harness bars and takatas are everyone's friend and that they know a guy who's a "hardcore jdm racer boi" who runs a 4 point and was in a car show or trashy magazine so it must be good.
People with a broader understanding will tell you that factory mount points are tested at 3000 pound load for 30 seconds as per federal regulations (see http://www.nhtsa.org the national highway traffic safety administration) and using the factory mount points for a 4 point autocross harness would be a wise move, but that using it on the street would be idiotic at best as it would compromise the extenively engineered, tested, and developed factory system by changing one integral part of a system for a part that isn't better, only different.
I fully expect to get "flamed" for this post because honda tech has become roughly 98% misinformation spreading, safety disregarding, sophomoric trolls. but, if you're not supporting your argument with TECHnical honda related data from a third party source that everyone can see, it's meaningless.

There's still alot of good information on Honda-Tech, but alot of it is buried in the archives. The red search button is your friend. The roadrace/autocross section is still pretty good here, once you learn to ignore the posts that are just "noise"
If you can't find an answer after searching for a while here, of course ask, and if you really want another board to check out the pro-touring board is really welcoming of new people. I don't hang out there so I can't speak about it personally, but others seem to like it and visit both boards.
The thing about H-T is that there are still really knowledgeable members here, they just don't post because they're tired of answering the same question over and over.
good luck with your project.

whatever you do mount them straps shoulder height or no less than 3 inces beneath your shoulders. which would mean you need like a mainh hoop and a crossbar. people that mount them to the floor or back near the trunk dont understand that if you are in accident the angle your back arches from impact could very well snap you in half.function over fashion
just make sure you dont do that. see it all the time.
