Super Motard Honda
I was thinking of getting an older XR250R and putting on some streetbike wheels and tires, maybe a low pro front fender, lower it alittle then turn signals and mirrors. All black. I think it would be a sweet super motard style bike. A single sided swing arm would be cool too
Too bad I have no idea how to do the swing arm or rims
What do you think?

Done that, but with an '01 CR250R. It's relatively simple to do if you buy the wheels pre-built or lace 'em yourself. Fitting wheels off a sportbike winds up needing a lot of tinkering, as would the single-sided swingarm, but it would look insanely trick. The CR is my racebike at the moment, so the street-legal hardware isn't installed. Here's a pic of it in race trim...

Get a hold of the White Bros catalogs. For supermotard, I'd suggest against a single sided swingarm unless you don't plan on racing. Also get a XR650, the 250's are too underpowered for anything more than a ride around the block.
I like it! so the single sided swing arm is bad
It would look very cool.
So how does the CR handle? More like a streetbike? How did you get it street legal even with lights and stuff?

The CR handles sort of like a streetbike with very long-travel, soft suspension. It's hard to compare it to anything but a dirtbike with sticky street rubber and insane brakes though. You can totally rail it knee-down through corners, or sit up on the bike and put your foot out like a motocrosser. A real hoot
I'm the 3rd owner of the bike...the 1st owner somehow got it street-legal straight from the dealer, with lights and DOT knobby tires on it.

CR has nice, abrupt power delivery.
The CR500 can smoke most sport bikes out there. The XR is the 4-stroke version of the CR (sorta). Both have insane lean angles. Fun when you go around a chicane, clutch in, blip throttle, clutch out.
You can street legalize 2-strokes in most states as long as you add headlights, signals, non-resettable odometer, taillights, and a horn. Visit http://www.bajadesigns.com for conversion kits.
