where can I get my cf hood re-clearcoated?
Does anyone know where I can get my cf hood re-clearcoated? I'm located in San Diego and I cant find a body shop that does it. I've tried using that Marine products and it just made my hood worst. Anyone know roughly how much this will cost?
[edit] here's a picture of my cf hood . .

If youve already tried it yourself you probably screwed it up more so it will cost more to fix it. All they will do is wetsand and reclear it, any bodyshop can do it. It shouldnt be THAT expensive

not all wax is uv protected. If you wanted to bite the bullet and send me the hood I would be glad to fix anything you need done to it, since it is what I do for a living lol

I've actually read that somewhere too, if I remember correctly it was said that waxing too often can strip the gelcoat. I've been waxing mine about once a month anyways. my cf hood on my old hatch did the same thing...I used rubbing compound on it...and then waxed it after. After I was done it looked good as new. I would wax it every other few weeks to keep it looking fresh.

it took me about 30-45 min. Just apply the rubbing compound and read the direction....and same with the wax...really isnt too hard..but it will make your arm sore for a few hours lol
and if you want to take it the easy way out...find a guy friend to do it for you lol
if i was a girl I would use it to my advantage all the time haha..

i just re-polished my hood...
i wish i would have taken some pix of the before and after.. but mine had some **** all over it that would not come off for the life of me...
i ended up wet sanding it down with 1500 then 2000, then i used some 3m perfect it 3000 rubbing compound.. and buffed it out...
then as luck would have it, my buffer took a **** on me. so i had to do more than half of it by hand... but after a lot of elbow grease i applied some 3m cleaner wax. and it has pretty decent shine to it now.. it can be better, but i have to get a new buffer..
then i even did the same thing to my headlights. but used some clear plastic polish.
