why didnt you return them and you installed it anyway?

I'm also curious to hear what was the source of the fire.
Why didnt you ask for new charge pipes when you found out they were used?

wow.. that sucks.... you're not the only person that has had issues with cody's manifold, and dump tube... go to s2ki.com and you'll find a bunch of threads in the forced induction section on it...
Im not a civil expert but I do work in the legal field. I cant imagine it going much different than this way:
The shop has no control over how the car is driven or what it will be used for once it leaves the shop. Unless another shop, some expert or even those fire fighters in that picture can find some kind of flagrant negligence on their part, the loss will be almost entirely incurred by you. Thats how racing/modifying your car for racing goes. I would try to settle with them in hopes for a generous discount on a rebuild.
It just isnt cool that they are at least not trying to settle this amicably after you gave them your business.

Were you beating the hell out of the car when this happened or were you just normally driving down the road?I hope you get as much as you can back from your losses.
I know it sucks and all, i dont mean to be an ***...But why would Cody cover any of it? He clearly states on his site "off road use only" on the main page...

If it had all those problems - why did you put it on your car in the first place? And the fire could have been caused by many things - like maybe an injector o-ring seal started leaking or the turbo oil line came loose.
I know when i drive my civic, i pop the hood after i starting the car and do a once around and look for leaking fuel injectors, oil lines, make sure all the vacuum lines are okay etc etc.
I think you should figure out what happened before you blame lovefab for something that could have been caused by you. And again, i dont mean this to be harsh or anything, but id like to know all the facts before you start pointing fingers at people.
Who installed the kit?

True....it is for offraod use only but I think I would still be a little annoyed if my car burned to the ground using the kit offroad like it is supposedly intended

Thanks for the replies guys.
Street legal or not, they should work like what producer advertised, right? and no body will buy a turbo kit and turn their car into off road vehicle. He didn't mention it to me when i called and ordered it over the phone, nor he stated "off road only" in his group buy thread on s2ki. Lovefab should spend more time on R&D to work out all the problem before they even release the kit to the public. This is simply a badly designed kit with not enough R&D, it should include every piece to make sure their customers car will not get burned after install their kit.
also, you won't even know there are problem after you are half way through the install.
Did i mention i check all the bolts and fittings every morning before i drive and pop the hood every night when i get her in to the garage to let her cool down.

I was just driving normally in the town, just up the speed by a little because i was entering a brige which leads to a 80kms limit highway.

He basicly told me i have to send it back and wait to get a new pipe, i still cant figer out why he sent me used pipes.
It would be cheaper to have mine own made at that time.

some insurance companies have a thing that you pay a little extra a month for aftermarket parts coverage.... and most other insurance companies will cover anything that is physically bolted onto the car (wheels, sterio, exhuast.. you get the point)

you're not the only one to recieve used pipes.... there are a couple threads on s2ki that have stated the same thing... used pipes, used injectors, and having issues with the manifold and dump tube cracking and breaking apart.....
