Default humming possible tranny bearing

I drive a 96 accord v6 with 341000 km not sure of the ratio to miles but its up there I love the car and have a mechanic who has worked on hondas for fifteen years last year the passenger front bearing was changed and now I have humming from the front end but not sure if its from the passenger side or more from centre mechanic suggested that it might be a bearing inside the transmission is this a common problem also ticking when I start the engine gos away five minutes later is it "piston flap" or lifters I would love to keep this car until its a classic body and interior is mint.
