2000 Accord - Oil Pressure Switch
Check engine light came on this morning, so I took the 2000 2-door Coupe LX Accord to Honda. They ran their tests ($100 worth
) and came up with a bad VTEC OIL PRESSURE SWITCH (in their words). They want $161 +tax to replace it. I've done a little research and I believe I found the part I need at Advance Auto Parts http://www.partsamerica.com/Pr...set=A
Only $8. Now I just need to know if this is an easy replacement or am I going to have to really put some work into it. I cannot find any documents online on how to replace it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The VTEC oil pressure switch is very easy to replace. Its behind the distrubutor cap, and downward. I believe it has a turquoise color connector that plugs into it. That sensor screws right into the block. Just a simple unscrew and screw the new one in. Now tell me something, what code was your honda throwing? My 99 lx is throwing a code and all it says is VTEC malfunction....a mechanic told me that it could be the same thing you are replacing, but once i replaced it and turned off the CEL, it came back on again a little ways down the road.
