i wana take my ac out of my 94 integra gsr how hard is this to do and what am i going to need belt wise after compressor and everything is out...and is it worth it if i really dont use the ac?

 

I took mine out, theres always that 1 week in the summer that you'll regret it but other than that i was like you and never used it and like it out of the car. we are actually taking the ac out of my friends dc4 tonight

 

My mechanic just removed my ac and ps to install my turbo kit. Chicago summers are pretty brutal so we'll see.

 

do u know what i am going to need after it is out or is it pretty easy to figure out

 

I wouldn't do it, if decreases the value of the car greatly, and makes for incredibly uncomftorable summers.

BUT then again I live in Texas...

you don't need anything just remove it completely it has a separate belt so you wont miss it ,,, good luck in the summer..

No A/C here all summer. Not bad really...and my car is black.

Only thing sux is when your windows get all fogged up

 

i wouldnt do it unless you're going to turbo

stock engine gives enough torque when a/c's on...

 

some turbo kits are ac compatible

 

does anybody know how much the ac actually weighs?

 

30-40lbs, take out the condenser and piece behind the glove box if you do it

 

for weight reduction its just stupid unless you have a second car.

if you are installing a turbo that requires it then do it.

but if its just for weight reduction alone thats just flat out stupid.

this guy is 100% correct.

but since you're up north, summers up there shouldn't be too bad. but i still wouldnt do it unless i had a 2nd car.

the guy who owned my gsr before me took everything out except for a couple of lines (the ones by the battery). i played HELL finding all of the **** again and installing all of it.

so if you you do it, make sure you seal off any lines you leave on the car, and make sure you don't lose anything. especially the pulley off of the a/c bracket!!!!!

 

i was told it would make more power eliminating ac and ps , how much power does it actualy make since it is less belts..would you even feel it?

 

up here in ct where i live the summer is not that bad...so u can leave it...but if u never use it mind as well take it out...or u can juss take the a/c belt out so it will free a lil bit more power from the crank pulley...

i made the mistake of taking out ac last spring, this summer was hell in my black integra. all through july we have 100-110 F temps, and it was shitty. i was planning ahead for a turbo and thought i'd have to get rid of ac anyway, but after doing some research it turns out most of the bolt-on kits don't require ac removal. unless you're 100% sure you won't regret it, then pull it. otherwise, you're gonna be slapping yourself later for it.

 

I don't use a/c, just roll my windows down. My a/c is hot as hell anyways cuz my a/c lines are right next to my turbo.

are you sure your system isn't just empty? you should try charging it first. if that doesn't help, get heat reflective tape. the a/c should work just fine with a turbo.

You won't make anything Near noticable.

 

youre gona need the ac when it starts raining and fogs up your window. i dont got ac and i hate it when it rains

 

i plan on going to turbo i figured it would get in the way, the kit im looking at is compatibale with ac and ps but i figured im going to be turbo charged for the first time and how often am i going to take it out in the rain anyhow

Actually......the heater + window defrosters seems to work for me in those situations. I also took out my A/C too.
