So if the ARC has heat soak issues, how does the J's intake do??

Im thinking about taking out the ower baffling on my stock box, throwin in a k&n or green filter and getting a CF cooling plate...

The J's intake is also more of a bling piece, but it also performs well. If it's dynoed HP you want, you should be looking at AEM's V2. It sits around 8 inches above the ground on a stock S2K, so you shouldn't have any problems with water if you are smart about driving your car. Also, don't soak the area around the filter cut out with a ****-load of water. I specialize in S2K parts and you can find me on S2KCA and S2Ki. I would PM you, but this **** board won't let me do crap.

not much water problems as it does not dip to the ground as much as the v2. its more of a heatsoak prevention.

Do you lose throttle response with the AEM? Air boxes generally help with midrange throttle response (BMW, etc) and I wondered if the AEM was only a high rpm power producer? Thanks!

personally i think the stock airbox does more than a good enough job. its design is already a "cold air intake" design so theres really no need to change it except for the bling factor

I actually have both piece of the ARC, and yes its a heat soak, but once the car gets movin, u can feel the gain and the engine response. I saw someone online that had ARC and covered it with some sort of heat resistant cloth or watever, but the person was sayin that it runs better. But thats already an expensive intake and spend more money on heat resistant stuff, its too much.

I used to have this intake. I felt a bit more throttle response, but for the most part, it's mostly BLING!

Eh, not worth the 700 dollars unless you got that type of money lying around somewhere and don't mind spending it for the bling factor under your hood. It does look nice, but if you're lookin for an excellent mod and the most bang for the buck, I can't stress swapping out the final gear ratio enough on the S. Best mod you'll ever get for the S compared to anything else.

If u want to get ure moneys worth, listen to Weifast, change your final drive, i love my 4.77. In regards to intake, unless ure willing to part with the $$$$ for J's or mugen dont bother with anything else. OEM is better than a pod on a stick anyday IMO.

So what are you guys suggesting? AEM V2 or Comptech or ARC?

I heard its allmost the same thing if you do a KN filter and a Cooling plate/Spoon Snorkel...

Does this work- Or should i do one of those 3?
