Default Putting aftermarket fans on radiator.

Ive seen people putting aftermarket electic fans on there cars. Which are a lot slimmer.
(not sure if thats a good thing or not) but what I was thinking
is either
a) move the fan from the back of the radiator up to the front of it. (the new one)
b) put a fan on the front but also have one in the back.

Then I come to another problem. Which way do I want my fans to blow?
Do I want both of them to blow towards the back of car.
So the front one would be blow air on the radiator and the other would be
blowing away. Or the other way around, and ideas? suggestions?

Yea people usually use slim fans for 2 reasons, to free up some space or becuase thy are usually stronger, more power full than stock...Honestly I doubt you would need 2 slim fans one should be more than enough...if you mount it on the front of the car you want it to blow through the rad towards the back of the car and if you mount it on he back of the rad you want it to suck air through the rad from the front and blow it into the engine bay

So i great way to hide extra stuff in the bay is put the new fan on the front and
have nothing on the back. Making things look a cleaner. Im not going for show or
anything. But if its killing 2 birds with one rock why not.

Which one will do me more good, running it the front or the back?

Standing still, it wouldn't matter. Moving though, I would think a front mount would block airflow, whereas a rear mount would allow airflow to spill past the fan.

how would a front mount block airflow???? the fan would be pulling air into the engine bay.. while you are in forward motion, you would have the force of the car pushing through the air, as well as the fan pulling it in the direction of the radiator....

I have a EG rad and a 10" slim fan in my car.

I mounted it in the front pulling the air through the rad (I think) and I'm not sure if it was my water pump, temperature gauge or something else, but when it was +30 celcius out my car would start to heat up good while in motion on the highway.

When my 89 DX was turbocharged I bought two slimline fans from Advance. One pusher and one puller. It was mainly to save room for the turbo but it cooled pretty good.

you only need one. most will tell you the oem radiator is overkill. i would personally put it in front just to free some room up.

If the fan can move air faster than what's coming at it, it won't. I don't know the velocity rating on the fan you are considering. If it isn't higher than your normal high speed driving, it will in effect 'block' air flow.
