Default Unusual Startup after install of some goodies....

I recently installed:

- RC 550cc injectors
- Walboro 255lph fuel pump
- CROME (fuel multiplier adjusted for larger injectors)
- Zietronix wideband O2 meter
- OBDI ecu

After installing all these, the car runs fine after it's all warmed up but when I start it (especially when it's colder out), it really struggles to get started.

My wideband reads extremely rich during these times, and it's not just when the motor is cold.

After I shut it off say to fill up with gas, it doesn't "catch" right away, it takes a few seconds or me to step on the gas a little.

What could be causing this?

Thanks

I was thinking the same as well, that when I start the car the injectors are starting out dumping too much fuel.

I have the same issue, however my only fuel mod is a 255lph fuel pump. It only does it when I start up right after I fill up.

Hrmmm, yea mine seems to do it no matter what. Not as bad right after I shut the car off, but like I said, on cold mornings it's really making me worry.

It hasn't even started getting close to as cold as it will be soon so I'm trying to beat the weather and get it fixed as soon as I can

Also, the idle will fluctuate after startup for a little while. It'll drop down into the 200's and the battery light will appear and then it saves itself from stalling......it really is an odd thing.

I'm using an OBDI ecu whoch from what I'm reading may be part of my issue.

Yes I believe it is, and I've been reading about this as well. What harm do I cause by unplugging this?

Mine has been unplugged for years *shrug*

I had basically the same issue on startup.
Very rough idle, running really rich...

Removing the gas cap made it much worse, it would take a good amount of cranks before the car would start.

On a setup like yours it could very eaisly be to much fuel, but unplugging the evap is a simple free thing to try.

No, there isn't much to tune. We loaded up a stock ITR basemap, applied the fuel multiplier and burnt the chip.

The only problem is the starts right now and the more reading I'm doing the more it seems like the evap purge.

Has anyone else had success in unplugging?

Is anyone else running an OBDI ecu?

I got it from a reliable source so I'm ruling out bad basemap as it seems others are having similar issues, with no findings really.

The car runs great as long as:

1. I'm not starting it
2. It's not idling when cold, really just a few minutes of being cold maximum

It seems that it has to do with having an OBDI ecu....

GETTING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MY CAR AFTER REFUELING. dONT'T THINK
ITS OBD1 PROBLEM, BECAUSE I'M STILL ON AN OBD2 WITH SOME AFTERMARKET
MODS. IE INTAKE MANIFOLD AND FUEL PUMP. SEEMS LIKE PUTTING IN AFTERMARKET FUEL PUMPS CAUSE THE PROBLEM.
