Revs to idle (idles bad, but at a steady RPM), when gas is pressed, it bogs. When warm, works normal. No CEL, what is wrong?

1996 Civic Coupe Ex with B16a3 engine (obd2), intake, exhaust, msd box, external coil.

The car starts and goes to idle, but if you press the gas pedal it will bog and bog and not rev. If you leave it be for a while until it is warm, then it will go back to "normal operation". Revving fine and so on.

- Gas tank has been dumped
- there is spark
- timing belt has not jumped
- dizzy seems to be ok.
- exhaust was removed to test for clogged cat


HAVE SEARCHED, but the kicker to this problem is

1- No Check engine light
2- It goes away when warm.

I just unplugged my throttle position sensor.... have yet to find a GREAT solution. This will work for the idle and bog problem just dont get on it until it gets warm!!

 

This may sound a bit condesending but...Don't ALL B16's idle funny? I know a B16A with B16B cams that idles at 5K revs...be thankfull yours isn't like that

I don't know whether this is the case...but at the last meet - everyone started up their cars (everyone with B16's) and they all idled at around 2K untill warm - could just be the British weather though!

 

my jdm d15b does the same thing except for the idling part, it does the same exact thing for the bogging part. Bump for a resolution
