I have a 91 integra with a b18c1 swap. My car will run fine just driving but if I go into vtec and then come out evertime I go to give it gas it hesitates alittle and then goes. It only happens after I go into vtec. In order to fix it I shut the car off and then turn it back on and it will run fine. Does anyone know what it could be or how to fix it. Thanks.

There are no CEL's. Could it have something to do with pressure build up since it is only after I go into vtec, or could it be an ignition problem. Also someone told me to check my fuel pump because it might be bad. What do you all think?

 

I would make sure that your fuel pressure is correct for the b18c1 engine. I would also make sure that the vtec oil control valve is releasing oil pressure when the vtec solenoid is turned off. sounds to me as if the central rocker (or vtec rocker) is staying in the enguaged position. Let me know what you find. This is an interesting drivability issue.
