Does gas effect vtec?
Ever since i had my 99 civic si, I've added premium gas from shell. Last week, i had no gas all so i added some premium from valero. TNot until today, i was going into vtec and it seemed that vtec wasn't kicking in. It is obvious to tell when it kicks in cuz of the roar, but in this situation, there was sound. The force has also decreased compare to what it was before. Three months ago, my check engine light came on and the problem was that it was low on oil, but it's not showing up this time, so it can't be the oil. Any ideas what the problem might be?

Sure it can. Don't rely on a dashboard light to tell you when you're low on oil. Check it with the dipstick.
