Pics from weekend at Mid Ohio (lots of random stuff pics)...
Welp just got home from a PCA event a Mid Ohio, as always track was great.
I'm not too good at writing reviews, pros and cons work better for me
Good Stuff
- Hanging out w/ good friends all weekend.
- New surface lets you use a lot more curbing
- Great weather on Saturday.
- Lots of grip in the dry.
- Lots of *almost* spins.
- ABS saving my *** in the rain.
- 3 full laps in the dry w/ absolutely no traffic, pure bliss.
- R compound grip.
- Amazingly fun wet session.
Sucky Stuff
- Getting stuck in an Intermediate run group
- Getting held up all weekend in an Intermediate run group.
- Street tire grip.
- Well forget those, there's really nothing bad about being at Mid Ohio
On to the pics, I'm sure Erik will be posting more shortly.
On the way up we ate at one of our favorites (we don't have MB in WV)

F355 Challenge (I suck at it)

Erik and his pop in their tow vehicle

Only on-track pics I got

Cars in the paddock

Erik's dad getting ready to head out (thanks for the use of all your tools and driving us around)

Mystery man

Much needed stop on the way home

Sleep time, thanks for looking.

Man, that was a good cookie.
Great pictures dude. This weekend was a blast. Weather really sucked today, but that first session was pretty fun. I was dori-dori through the full length of T1 at about 60mph
A few far crappier pictures from me.
Sun
Rain
I got to drive this one of the dry sessions Saturday
Justin getting ready to head out.....
Too many wheels and tires.....

I'm sure Justin will chime it but it looked awesome out there. Honestly I try not to pay too much attention to Justin's S2000, I don't wanna get too jealous
Action, no biggie on the rain, I don't mind it at all. I always want Starbucks!

Thanks for the comments guys.
Mike, this was a Porsche Club event, pretty good group to run w/.
Jay, Erik's dad's car is a 944 Escort Cup. From what I understand (I'm sure Erik will chime in) it's a factory built race car, I think there are maybe less than 10 brought to the states. It is a turbo, I think it makes about 275 hp. It's a pretty amazing ride, almost makes me puke every time through the keyhole

Well yeah, you keep trying to get me to go to a meeting with you.

I love hunting down Porsche's in the intermediate group of PCA track days... I don't think it's that my car is better or faster, but that the Porsche owners are probably a lot more careful with their cars and less kamikaze than I am.

944 Escort Turbo Cup car. A spec-racing series from the 80s much like Ferrari Challenge and Porsche Cup more recently. This was one of only about 12 brought to America for 1987. The cage, exhaust, engine, everything are completely as they came from Stutgart. Really a great car. I love it.

Well that's a long story. After my last event I was in need of two new R comps. I wanna go to 15x7s for my track wheels and Franza had two K1s for sale so I went ahead an picked them up and put two new RA1s on them. I hoping to find two more 15x7s when the tires on my two stockies are worn out.
