gauge cluster isnt working? any ideas? 93 lude si
I removed my cluster assembly the other day to install indiglo gauges. Its supposed to slide on over the needles and sit on top of the existing face. I wired everything up so it lights up and looks cool but now the tach, and speedometer don't move.... They dont vibrate at start up or anything.... Im wondering if by touching the needles I broke a spring or something..... I dont think I spun the needles when sliding the face over them... BUt i noticed when I was putting the cluster back in, the needles would move freely if I turned it upside down.... Any ideas on what it could be? Odometer still works....
i had a problem with this about a year back. did you feel the needle pop at anytime? cause if they came up at all the little spring inside could have been disconnected and could be ruined or atleast thats what happened to me they didnt move at all and the parts alone to fix them cost $700 its insain i dont know why but thats what i got quoted at by three different dealerships. if thats the deal your best bet is to find a whole different cluster. i did cost $50 in better condition that the origional. be careful of miles on them and make sure to get the right one as well they are different for the SI. sorry bout the trouvle hope i helped you a little.
