Any pics of the block/pistons?

It can be fixed. Take it to a reputable machine shop for estimates.

i would fix it if it were ported, and if the porting was worth more than buying a new head and porting it again...but that is definitely fixable....

I had similar damage last year, and the welding repair cost $40. The most expensive part was the labor to dissassemble the head.
