Default Retrofitting projectors

I need to know is it necessary. i was looking on Team-Integra.net and alot of guys said they changed there projectors when they upgraded to H.I.D.'s. DO u have to do this. If u dont will it mess up your headlights or something?

The reason many people retrofit OEM HID projectors into their stock housings is because they provide a superior beam pattern over simply installing a drop-in HID kit. No, you don't have to do it and your headlights won't be damaged if you don't. However, the results will be much better if you do.

ok, i got it now. well, yes. You should change out your projectors. They are way better than your stock halogens that you have now.

I think i will past on the projectors. I have seen hids on stock projectors and they had a good cut off. i just need to know if there was a risk in not changing them out. Thanks to all that gave input.

it will if they rebase it. a cheap alternative to get that brightness of hid's, can't say the same about the cut off line and glare control.

hid retro fit is the way to go. hid in stock projector like a plug and play kit has too much glare and hot spots do a search theres a ton of info and alot of pics to compare

this is THEE pic that convinced me to do a retrofit (cut out housing and drop in new projectors, everything) its juicy.fn's ride

Even if it is what you want, everyone comming the other way would definately prefer if you used a proper HID projector for a HID bulb. The entire reason its illegal to add HIDs to a car that didn't come with them is from people just dropping a "HID kit" into stock halogen reflectors and projectors, and blinding everyone else.

94-01 tegs do have projectors but they are made to use halogen bulbs and not HID bulbs. Like someone here already mentioned, putting HID bulbs in halogen projectors will cause some glare and hot spots to oncoming traffic

Standard 4300K HIDs. S2000 projector retrofit.

FYI: Lexus LS 430 & S2000 have one of the best projectors for retrofitting.
TST, TL come pretty close!

I have a plug n play 4300 KIT (Philips ballast, rebased bulb, etc) that overtime has turned bluish because it lost Kelvin temperature. It's actually pretty bright, but...No where near as bright as a retrofit like juicy.fn's.

Never been pulled over for mine. Maybe I you are talking about guys who buy those nasty *** purple kits---insane 8000k or 10000k type.

I also have another ballast + D2S bulbs I have stashed away for my retrofit that I will do who knows when...
