Default chipped ecus

i'm looking into buying a chipped p30 ecu with the mugen program from http://www.ff-squad.com/ecu/ecu.obd1.dohc.vtec.htm

for my jdm b16a and i was wondering if the claims made for these things are real or are they just going to hurt my motor (no speed limiter redline set to 8500 advance air/fuel ratio) should i look into it or leave it alone

u guys think that would work with my set up that i will be building its kinda a lowbudgt performance daily driver

all engines are different. Theres no such thing as a tuned chip without actually tuning the car first hand.

i've never understood why people go to OBDI ecu's if they arent going to get the engine tuned.

I agree, that tuning is the key, but a chipped ecu with a basemap specifically for your setup is the next best thing
