D-Rob's coupe at the drag strip!
Finally got a chance to break in the new slicks.
Best E.T. of the day was 8.56 @ 80mph (1/8th mile track, very very crappy track, BTW...)
Let me know how she looks.

(That picture was taken just before I got the driver's side wheel spinning.
Damn open diffs.
)

Also at the track today was this dragster, powered by a GM Ecotec.

He never really got a clean pass, but the last I heard was something along the lines of 6.41 @ 109mph?
Thanks.
- Derek

South Mountain Dragway, which happens to be like, 5 minutes from my house.
I don't go very often, because the 1/8th mile is no fun, and the track itself is VERY poorly kept/prepared.
I'll be heading to Cecil County Dragway next Saturday for a Test-N-Tune, though. I'm shooting for 12's this time around.

1. You didn't break the slicks in... Don did.
2. Grab 2nd in the burnout and that other tire will spin instantly and a ****-ton of smoke will appear if you'd like.
3. What other times did you run?

Slicks were at 11psi.
1.84 was my best sixty-foot.
I launched around 6700-7000 RPM.
And yes, second gear burnouts, FTW. I just need to be less of s sissy next time.
At cecil this Saturday, second gear burnouts, here I come.

You're training will be complete, young Jedi.
EDIT: Before I go killing your tranny, I don't know if you have enough power to start in 2nd... I doubt it... but if you grab 2nd from the 1st gear burnout... just be gentle.

I'm pretty sure I've got enough power...
It's just a matter if I have enough clutch.
First gear shoots to 9000 RPM like it's nothing.

I think you'll be ok....
I'd lower the psi a lil -- maybe 8 psi cold.
Launch that sucka at 8k+
Make sure and pre-load and your axles will thank you later!!

Of course I preload.
Maybe I'll try that.
