Stick with B or go with K?..
well, my motor blew up like 2 months ago or so.. it was a B18C-R, with skunk2 everythin in the head, block was all stock. Im debating whether i should build another B series motor like my old one, only a bit stronger, by buildin up the block, etc.....OR, should i go for the k20 typeS swap? My car is a 96 spec itr (rhd).
Post up all comments, positive or negative for both, etc!
thanks!

True cause once you hack up the side mount and all rad mount. Do some hammer persuation. Its going to be more then interesting to going back.
Anyways, K20A > B18C anyday if budget is not too much off an issue

well, i am going to play the "What are you going to use the car for" card....
I think the whole k swap is a great idea if you intend on keeping the car.....if you think you might ever sell it, stay with the B series....
I myself would rather purchase a b series type r than one that has been hacked up for a k swap.......

if you're gonna sell your car after why do u wanna put your own money and make it nice and all strong?
so anyways. it will be a built B18C5 vs stock type S K20?
if so. i'd go with built B18C5

if i keep it, ill either want to build up a nice b18c, or a mild build k20, if i sell it, ill just rebuild the motor with honda oem parts.
im just wondering if i do decide to keep it, if its better to go crazy on the b18c or a mild setup on the k20-S?

If your ever going to sell the ITR, you will get the most for it if its completely stock. One of the reasons why my ITR is bone stock, and I plan on never selling it. Your best bet is building up the C5. Whether you deicde to sell it or keep it you'll be happy.

JDM K20A or don't even do it at all. If you weigh the differences between the JDM B18C-R and a K20A2 you'll see that you're getting raped in terms of the K20A2 (from RSX-S) has almost jack crap. Whereas the JDM K20A is a truly worthy successor to the B18C-R

more than your average itr, just cause it has low kms, real rhd not converted, like new condition inside out and underneath, and has ALOT of aftermarket parts on it. All thats missin is a motor
lol!
Thanks

If u wanna keep it classic and feel the raw power stick with B
If u want lot of hp than i guess Ks the way to go.
but i'd stay with B after i found out u can't come back to B after K~

The only reason why you can't go back to B is if you have an incompetent shop perform the task.
With that said, it's not exactly easy, but nonetheless, it's a simple procedure.
I really can't imagine how difficult it would be to weld the upper transmission mount back in place and weld back the piece you cut off or fabricate another piece for mounting/clearancing the shifter.
