Default Dyno'd again

First dyno tune a couple months ago

yesterdays dyno at Velocity Trends

now......this is a good example of different dyno's reading different even while still being the same brand.

I also tested the BPi flowstack. When I get the complete file with all my dyno runs, i will post a thread on it. There was absolutely no tuning for the test. I did the comparison on my first three runs. 1st without flowstack or filter, 2nd with stack, 3rd with stack and filter. To my suprise i actually gained after putting the filter on. My midrange really picked up with it, but i'll post those when i get them.

I havent had a good look at the graphs yet, but it was worth the 50 bux, IMO

On the higher horsepower chart you are running a bit leaner than you are on the lower chart which accounts for a bit more power. Either way, I would add some more fuel... it's a bit lean to my liking. I don't know what the weather is like in Fl right now... but here it's a good bit cooler which def helps to make more power compared to 20deg higher a few months ago.

But yes, dyno's do read differently. DynoJet's though in my opinion can give you good repeatability for comparison.

well, the way i figure is that i dont really like the sniffer widebands and they tend to output a leaner mixture than what it really is. I would have been able to use my wideaband if my connector would have came in

I'll be able to post better info once i get the complete file.

keep in mind you're comparing STD and SAE #'s as well.

true, but the numbers and correction factors are the least of my worry.

good point on the correction factors...using SAE would probably bring the number down some.

nice gain on the flowstack. i need to jump on the dyno with mine. i have the flowstack and filter installed with my AEM CAI tubing. So...it's still set up as a cold air. Maybe after Christmas time. I have S100 in a box just waiting to go to hondahaven to get it tuned.

Good point... typically I've seen about a .3-.5 diff on dyno-jet sniffers.

Bingo. I didn't even see that, lol.

Blake:

Get the full data to see what the gains are. I am curious to know. Hey, do you know if its better to dyno the BFI unit as a cold air intake or a short air intake?

i think my exhaust and throttle body are holding me back a little bit, but it makes great power and holds the torque pretty well. I'm happy with the way the car performs.

now i just gotta fix my shift cables

colder air is always better

a longer pipe is going to move the powerband up

its up to your preference

Well your latest graph is at a CF = 1.02

Try to get both run files and then you can compare at the same correction.

Your scales are different too so that makes it even harder to compare.

But the main difference I see is looking at the 4k and 7.5k torque values. With your first run torque at 7.5k < 4k, on the second graph torque at 7.5K = 4k so your top end is better now. Flow stack? cooler air? Don't know but it's better.

is it better to tune it with an open header or full exhaust? and any reason for taking it off at the axleback?

could be a combination of both, but yea whenever i get the file i'll be able to get the correction right. i have the file for the previous dyno, so i could just set it to my current dyno....
