What/Where is this squeak comming from?
Hey guys, I picked up a nice 99 black civic si over the summer and have been loving it since. However, I've run into a problem. Just recently, a squeak has developed somewhere under the hood. The weird thing is that it squeaks whenever I go over bumps, close my door, and move the seats back and forth. However, if I were to get out of the car and press down on the hood, or kick the tire, it doesn't squeak. Also another weird thing is that if it rains (like yesterday), the squeak goes away, so I'm assuming that it just needs some lube? Feedback will be greatly appreciated. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

check the front suspension could be your strut bushings up top doin that, just be careful of how you lube them because if they were incorrectly installed the strut will come loose and go through you hood. Had that happen to me.
thanks biotech. Interesting that you've narrowed it down to the strut bushings. On my front driver's side, the strut seems to sag a half inch than the others. I don't know what the previous owner did to this suspension but what do you think is going on? Worn out struts? This car only has 57,000 miles on it.
Or maybe the previous owner was a bit overweight, all hondas seem to be a bit lower on the drive side then the passenger side .5" is a bit much though. Is it stock suspension?
