Default High octane > Regular Unleaded in reguar LS engine..

If a regular LS motor has been running a higher octane fuel, would it be okay to switch over to regular unleaded gas?

I know i used regular unleaded in my last LS and it was fine, but would a switch between the two gases make a difference?

Yes, a stock B18B only requires regular 87 octane unleaded.

Actually, that's so you don't put leaded fuel in it.

So what you're saying is because leaded fuel is no longer common in the usa, "unleaded fuel only" now means "87 octane only?"

Lol.... you couldnt be anymore off target... unleaded fuel only means not to use leaded fuel...

Leaded fuel was back in the day, but you can still get your hands on some stuff..
"unleaded fuel only" does not mean 87 only you moron..
Unleaded+ is still unleaded fuel...
Premium unleaded is still unleaded fuel...

Use your head man.

running 91 octane on a car that wasnt made for it can actually be detrimental to ur engine. The temperature inside the combustion chamber raises and can lead to a great range of problems in the long run..

Why would you want to run higher octane in a car that does not need it.
By no means does a LS need above 87.

Oh and it pretty much means. Regular Unleaded fuels.

wasting your money.. unless you have mods that require a higher octate, it's doing nothing for you

but then again, how are the gas prices in Alberta? in ont, we're at about 85 cents / litre
