Default How do I notice a problem with my rod bearings?

Ok, here's the deal. B20Vtec, motor was from PasswordJDM. My guy installed my vtec head last weekend and i think i could probably messed up my rod bearings... not too sure though. How can I make sure it is that? I had a valve adjustment already and i still hear it. I don't hear it at idle though, only when I gas it. Please help.

You can only inspect bearings visually.

You can drop your oil pan and pull the rods/pistons out and inspect the bearings that way, or pull the motor and dissassemble. I prefer the later, mainly because I hate having oil drip over me while I work.

So i can't really determine if it's my rod bearings just from hear it? Lets just say, I did expletive up my rod bearings, what effect would it have on my engine? Such as crazy *** noise, cause other problems? The car is untuned using a b16 base map on a b20vtec. I took it to 7200 and from then, I noticed this problem..

Rod knock is a condition where if the rod bearing(s) get scored, they loose the ability to hold oil pressure and you hear a "knocking" sound.
