Default Tried everything but still wont start...

Posting this for a friend. First of all he drives a Civic hatch with a obd1 gsr swap. Couple nights ago he drove his car and it was driving great, nothing wrong with it. The next day, he started it up, it did but as he backed out of the driveway, the car died. We check the spark plug wires and the one all the way on the driver side was coated with this white powder and we dont know what it was, and the spark plug that it plugged into was filled with like oil and dirt. So we cleaned it off and it still doesnt start up. We checked the distributor and compression and they were fine also. We try cranking it and you can hear the starter turning but it doesnt start. We are very bummed and dont know whats going on. Anyone have any ideas? The car doesnt not throw any check engine lights.

does he have some sort of aftermarket ecu?

this kind of happened to me in a way. . my car just didn't want to start. it would crank, but not turn over. after a week of checking problems, i came to the conclusion that it had to be fuses.

turns out it was my ecu fuse that blew, for some god forsaken reason. check the fuses, make sure everything isn't blown

let us know what happened!

yea we're getting spark, could it be anything else? We tried hitting the starter to try to get the car to start but no luck.
