Default just changed the 5th gear off my si tranny with an ls.... wineing now need help

ok bought the 5th gear from honda... 60$ was like y not better gas milage now then i took it to a machine shop so they could take 5th off my si and replace it with 5th from ls. well now when i shift into 5th it wines alot. will this be a problem or does anyone have any answers. im about to drive across country and really don't want to drive with it like this.

ok here are the problems:
1) 5th gear that got replaced grinds
2) absolutly no MPH sensor works sometimes i was crusing about 30 it was bouncing around 80-120
3) randomly no power comes from the gear even if i downshift if the rpms go to 0 then i can shift it back into gear

ok here is what was done:
new flywheel
new clutch kit
new throughout bearing
new clutch slave cylinder

you mean the engine revs but the power doesn't get to the floor?
or is your engine hesitating?

I'm not really sure of an answer but if everything worked before you had the 5th grear in, I think it was a waste of money to change all that other stuff...

Obviously something was done incorrectly. So, no, it was not a waste of money.

I can see how you misundestood my point.

the way I read it- " I bought an ls 5th gear and had a machine shop install it, now the tranny whines and 5th gear grinds and since then I've replaced flywheel, clutch, slave cylinder and throwout bearing"

Since he didnt mention the replacement of the gear in the list of items I assumed he's replaced those items AFTER the noise started. Which would explain my post

ok the full story. pulled the engine out to get it sleeved. ended up getting aebs sleeves je 9:1 pistons and eagle rods lighter flywheel and new cluth. while it was out i got the machine shop to go ahead and replace the gear on the counter shaft. looked through the whole helms and i guess i missed the one on the main shaft. So ill order it or put the old one back on. im driving 1600 miles the added gas milage would help

No, but a good transmission shop would have noticed the mismatched gears.
