Default Wastegate/Dumptube question....

Kinda dumb question I suppose, but just curios.

Is there supposed to be any 'exhaust' coming out of the dumptube from the wastegate when at idle or even driving without boosting???

Thanx

no and no. the wastegate starts releasing exhaust gases once the spring's psi is reached to prevent from boosting any further.

Maybe you forgot to install the ring if it's a Tial wastegate.

Stupid question! Do you have to disassemble the waste gate to get the fire ring in? I always thought the fire ring was just a type of gasket, so I'm confused. I just purchased a Tial waste gate off a friend and there's a gap between the valve and housing. So I'm missing the "valve seat", which is what you guys are calling the "fire ring", right

Also, when I push on the valve it will not budge, is that normal.

The ring just goes on the flange of the WG, where it bolts to the manifold.

If you can't push the valve in by hand you are either weak or you are about to run a lot more boost than you are hoping

Well I opened the waste gate and there's a big yellow spring in it (10.153 psi). That should be ok for my stock LS. Also, I have carpal tunnel in my hands and I think that limits my hand strength.

TurboBB6, where are you? Do you have a Tial waste gate and forgot the valve seat? That happens to alot of people, lol.

OMG I'm a stupid idiot.
Mine is blowing exhaust at idle and when not boosting. It's Tial 38mm.
Must of dropped it somewhere cuz I don't think it's there.
Where can I find this at? Tial?

Thanks for the helps guys!!! I knew something sounded different.

I'm pretty sure ATPturbo has them. I've done business with them and highly recommend them.
