Default Tuning help!

My civic it at the shop, and they call me today and tell me they cant tune it. Its a turbo GSR and from Their reccomendation i bought a chipped p28 and a hondata s200 system....now the prob is they say to do the tune, they have to buy the "hondata tuning softwear" and the chip programmer or whatnot.....which is 700$ in total, and since they dont do hondas often it would be up to me...... the question is, are there any other ways to tune it?

crome is free (find it at http://www.pgmfi.org) and you can datalog with freelog. buy the burner from moates.net for 80ish bucks its cheaper then paying 700 for hondata

I agree, take it somewhere else... they don't have a burner or software... that means they don't tune too many Hondas either... do you really want someone tuning your car with so little background in hondas?

or you could spend another $150 or so for Ostrich and be able to use the RTP saves ALOT of time when tuning

i still would not trust them to tune your setup.

buy a cheap burner and use crome or uberdata.

Did you not check out the hondata link I sent you? There is a shop in BC who is a tuner and dealer for hondata units.

If you want the shop to tune it for you they will need the dealer s200b unit (495 retail) with datalogging (free), and rom editor v3 (200 retail). You will also need the Romulator (180) and the pocket programmer (180).

If they are comfortable with tuning honda's, you may want to look into the Hondata s300 units since they do not require anything but a laptop and USB port to tune. Drop me a PM if you need pricing on a s300 unit.
