Default Driveshaft: Outboard Joint + Knuckle

So I was having this problem before:
the caliper was rubbing against the rotor.

and then I removed my wheel tonight and found the two screws holding the rotor to be loose so I tightened those up, but then I saw this...and was wondering if this looks normal.

this is a pic of the outboard joint connected to the knuckle (sorry for the blurryness)

What do you guys think?

Looks to me like you just let the pads get too low.

Those 2 screws for the rotor do nothing. Your wheel studs hold it all together.

but i checked the pads and it looks like i have a lot left...and doesn't the hub/axle bolt hold it all together? (don't the wheel nuts hold the wheels and the rotors to the wheel hub?)

either way somthing else is wrong. even if the axle nut is loose it wouldnt push the rotor into the caliper. that is held tight by your lug nut and rim, the hub is held on by 4 nuts behind the rotor assembly. check to see if your caliper isnt lined up correctly on the back forcing it backwards make sure your rotor isnt warped.

i checked the rotor and i don't think it's warped, however, there was some free play between the knuckle and the axle.

if the bearings go bad, shouldn't it make a noise?

the free play could definetaly be an issue. your caliper is stationary, if you have play in the spindle could be pushing your rotor into your caliper. was there any noise coming from that side

there's only noise when i make a left turn...and sometimes lil noise when i make a right turn, but no noise going straight. the noise sounds like the rotor is being resurfaced.
But are these two parts supposed to be connected? (shown from the two red arrows)
I mean, is there supposed to be that much of a gap?

ok beter question, go wiggle that outboard joint, and see if there is any play, if there is any at all, then the bearing is toast.

beraings dont alwayas make noise when they get messed up.
