ummm, what car do you drive? I think there is something up, because it shouldnt be that way. I can remote start my manual, but only because I bypassed the clutch switch

with the way mine is wired, it only remotely starts the car, if I get in and put the key in to start it, I still have to put the clutch in.

for whatever reason, your car has the clutch safety switch bypassed. maybe hondata or something?

my brother's EF hatch wouldn't start w/out a push for a couple days. long story short, I got tired of pushing the sumbitch, figured out the problem, and just cut the wires on the switch and connected them.

hmm... is there a DIY on how to do the disconnection of the clutch switch? That would be dope to not have to push the freakin' clutch in every time i want to start my car, call me a lazy bum, but that would be awesome!

Does it do any damage to the clutch, engine, tranny if its started without the clutch in? I would assume not... but why would they have that in the first place if it wasn't required you know? Any way, how can i do this, and is it a good idea?

edit: search owns me, i couldn't find anything via search.

They have it so you won't go plowing through your house if you have the car in gear and you start your car.
