My brother and I replaced his pcv valve. We got an aftermarket from advance. When we went to pull the hose off the valve the hose broke so we pulled off the broken part and used the rest of the hose on the new valve. There is no binding in the hose or any reason for me to think there is an air restriction there. We did notice a bunch of junk in the manifold and hose and cleaned out what we could. Now the car makes a prominent noise at the valve. I am not concerned about it too much as being a problem but would like to know what the noise is since it's my brother's car and not mine. I haven't found a leak at the manifold or the black box side of the pcv line. We threaded in the valve to the same depth of the valve that we pulled out of the car. Once again this isn't an alarmingly loud sound but you can definately hear it doing something along with just hearing the engine. My theory is that it's the sound of the valve working as the other one was very old and full of crud. Thanks!
