90 Auto LS tranny problem

I have a 90 auto integra that you have to be driving about 10 or so minutes before it will switch into 3rd. Once third shifts everything used to be all fine and dandy until the other day when I was driving I stopped at a light to turn right and when I went to go, my friends dumbass put it in park and the car jerked forward pretty hard.
Later on that day, I was driving pretty slow and heard a loud clanking noise come from the tranny, and now every once in a while I hear the same noise.
Anybody have any idea whats wrong with it, I know I need a new transmission, But I just want to figure out the problem.
Thanks in advance

Step one pee in friends butt.
I'm going on a limb and asuming a heat issue, have you inspected the fuild and if so how much is there?
Possibly the flex plates are giving out and its grinding as it slips?
I'm far from a auto tranny esp with Hondas expert but just some guesses.

I dont want to sound like a dumbass but what are flex plates?
the fluid is fine, it grinds a little bit at high RPMs..

Flex plates are also called clutch plates, do pretty much same function.
Howstuff works has a pretty good explaintion, Gerald said you thought it was your TC?
They are a total mystery to me other then I've learned highstall = zomg tehe fun.
I'm not too sure what if anything can be done to help it save a costly rehaul.
