Default speed sensor

Hey,
My mom has a 2001 Honda Oddesey. Her check engine light came on and it was the speed sensor. We replaced the speed sensor that was bad and the check engine light is still on.

Do you have to reset the ECU for the check engine light to go off or should it just go off after the sensor is replaced.

Also how do you reset the ecu.

thanx

Did you disconnect the battery? Also a VSS code doesn't always mean just the sensor is bad. I went through this on my rodeo and they had to test connectivity from the sensor to the gauge cluster and then also check voltage at the cluster to make sure there isn't a problem with the cluster.
