check the fluid level in your master cylinder.

Check your master cylinder fluid level. If it's low, fill it up and see if the light goes away. Make sure to also check for leaks, especially in the rear wheel well (rear wheel cylinders going bad). Have you noticed a decrease in braking performance? Softness in the pedal?

If the fluid is fine, no leaks, and pedal feels ok, master cylinder cap probably needs to be replaced.

check the fluid level first off, and if it's good and you have no leaking seals see if the car will give you a light while idling and disconnect the master cylinder resevoir cap if it goes away you have a faulty cap.
