Poly UCA Bushings?
i have a DC and my UCA bushings are gone on the driverside. i was thinking of just gettin some polyurethane ones for both sides since im changing them.
i wanted to know if any of you guys have any opinions on them and how hard it would be to change. IE: can i put these bushings in myself without a press?
thanks

far better than poly.
And yes, you can replace them yourself, they are easily done.

Do you plan on lowering the car in the foreseeable future? If so, kill two birds with one stone and get an upper arm camber kit ($150) or anchor bolt camber kit ($90). Both of these will have the new bushings already, and can be adjusted for your stock or lowered heights.
well the car is lowered already and im not a big fan of camber kits, i like camber as well. im not dumped nor wil i ever be so i can live with the little camber that i have. but thanks for the responses guys
i have poly uca bushings, and i used a press to get them out, and i would recommend you secure one. i redid all my bushings with poly ones and i noticed a considerable difference from sotck suspension w/ rubber.

i installed a whole es master kit with no press at all. i just used a c-clamp. when that didn't work, i just lined everything up, put the parts between a couple pieces of wood, and stepped on it. it took a little time, but it worked.

impressive. i couldnt get some of them out with a 20 ton press so iono how you did it with wood and body weight.. i actually still have some i havent done yet. i think theyre for the sway bar and shift linkage. anyway..
edit-if you do decide to get/use a press. be sure to have some sockets on site so that you can press the bushing out, otherwise, youll bend the uca/lca/whatever else it is, like i did. then you spend the next 6+ hours cussing out a piece of cast steel while trying to get it back to factory specs.

oh, i forgot to mention, i burned all of the old bushings out with a propane torch. it gets smoky, but it's an easy way to DIY w/o a press.
some of the bushings will have metal outer rings that will still remain after the rubber is burned out. i just used a dremel to cut them out. this is the easiest way to do the job without a press.
