^^^95% Correct. The S300 unit also has ignition cut. The S200 units only have fuel cut. Hasn't it been discussed that ignition cut is "better" than having fuel cut?

What exactly do you do to the tune when using the MSD system then? Like with timing/fuel?

You can't.

It's either fuel only or Ignition and Fuel.

i run s300... i like and dislike it... as far as 2 step s300 has igniton cut, also has launch control and if you know how to set it up itll make way more boost than msd 2step.. ditch the msd, run s300.. gl

can you show me something that confirms the S300 has ignition cut rev launch control? Hondata's website says it has fuel cut.

If I knew how to post a screen shot I would, On the "Rev Limit" screen you can choose rev limit, what type of cut method "fuel" or "fuel & Ignition" with an overrun.

On the "Launch Control" ie. 2 step you set the launch activation and lauch limiter RPM and at that point you have an add fuel section and a retard timing section. One thing to note is the Hondata bounces much slower than the AEM so it takes a little longer to do the job, but it works.

open it up and hit "print screen", up above the delete key... then open it up in paint or something and then upload it to your server and you have the screen shot.

One more thing- I have hondata S100, which has no type of 2-step, but I have a MSD SCI ignition, can I wire up a MSD 2-step unit to this ignition, cause I think I read somewhere that I cant??? I would really like to have it cause I have slicks now and I still need some better 60' times...

From what I understand, there is no difference between the SCI and 6A box, just size. The L is obviously an added limiter, I do not know if an SCI has that but I assume it does not.

I just got an email back from MSD:

Sir,

The main difference between the 6AL and SCI-L is the color and the
stickers. Other than that the two units are identical in output and
performance. You can have your SCI unit converted to accept an external
rev-limiter. The cost for this conversion is approximately $35.
The
external rev-limiter would be PN 8738, and the two-step would be PN
8979. If you want to send the unit in to have it converted, you will
need to call our customer service number for an RMA number and details;
such as, testing/repair charges, return address and the general process
or check us out online. If this equipment is less than a year old it may
be under warranty as well if you still have your receipt. We can be
reached @ 915-855-7123 Monday-Friday 7:00am-6:00pm Mountain time. Keep
in mind that we are closed on Saturday's and Sunday's. It is imperative
that you call for an RMA number before you send the unit or it will
dramatically slow down the repair process. You can also get an RMA
number from our website.

http://www.msdignition.com/rma

Thank you,
MSD Tech

I wonder what the "conversion" exactly is. I bet they just solder in a new wire or somthing stupid like that. I wish I didnt suck so much *** at wiring schematics or I would try to figure it out. I might have to start a new thread to try to get some help.
