Default sythetic blend oil change prob.

hey recently changed my oil, 2nd time from when i owned it, last time i just put regular non sythetic oil in the car, im not sure if the previous owner actually put sythetic or no, and i got no contact with him anymore. but this time i put synthetic blend and im starting to notice its leaking, not sure at all if this leaks are to oil or whatever it is, not sure if it belong to my car either, but im pretty sure its oil leak from my car, is there anyway to solve this problem or my only way is go to non synthetic ?

Oh oil i used is Quakers 10W30 Hi-RPM.
also if it is leaking is it still lubricating as normal ?

First pop the hood and/or get under the car and see if your car is leaking. Then determine whats leaking and where its coming from. Did you notice if the car was leaking after the first oil change, or did you not really pay attention.

Synthetic tends to be a bit thinner than regular "dino oil." This may be why you are noticing leaks. Find out where its coming from and put a stop to it ASAP.

synthetics are not thinner than dino, they have relatively the same cSt at a given temp for the same viscosities.

what is happening is since the syn blend has more cleaning additives than the dino, it is cleaning all the gunk built-up around seals; this gunk is what was providing a false seal for the oil once its cleaned out then the leaks you had are now uncovered. Syn ins't thinner and 'finding its ways through leaks' you already had leaks but they were being covered up by dino.

hmm.....shouldn't use Synthetic if your car doesn't need it. maybe bad for it.

Thank you. I finally didnt have to type out my whole story with a mobil rep telling my employer why synthetics can cause leaks!

Did you change the drain plug washer, like you should every time you change your oil?
