Post pics of your tires on 15" rims(94-95 ex alloys)
i need some new rubber for my 94 ex alloys(15") and i was thinking about getting 205-50-15 tires. is 205 too wide for these wheels or what? what is your setup and if you have pics please post them up. what do u suggest?
i also want the tire to be skinner than what i have now(i have 195-65-15 on my car now). is the 50 series too skinny ?

by skinny im assuming you mean the aspect ratio... this is the ratio of the width of the tire to the distance from wheel to top of tread.
i suggest 205-55-15. those wheels are 5.5" wide right? im pretty sure they are, and 205 is about the widest youll want to go on those wheels.
keep in mind that changing the aspect ratio will effect both your speedometer and also the gearing. i have 55 series tires on my 15's and didnt notice a huge diff from the 65's.

I run 205/50/15 Azenis which run really wide. They were hard to mount according to the shop to put them on, but you can't tell by looking at them that they are squeezed on or anything, they look normal. I don't have any pics though.

I have 205 55 Dunlop Sp5000s. They look better from front and rear, but my 195 60 make the car look lower. 205 is the widest you want on a 5.5 inch rim. Becareful when looking for tires, cause not all are approved to fit 5.5 inch rim.
A 55 sidewall is 23.8 inches in diameter v. 24.1 on a 60 series. The difference is not noticeable on the speedo. A 205 50 will be noticeable to the speedo, but it'll make the wheel gap look.

A 55 sidewall is 23.8 inches in diameter v. 24.1 on a 60 series. I'm sorry my friend but you are incorrect. A 205-55 tire and a 225-55 tire will not have the same sidewall height. That second number (55) is the ASPECT RATIO which is a ratio of sidewall versus width (the first number, 205).
By what you said, I got the impression you were refering to all 50 series tires vs. 195-60. It looks like your saying that all 50 sidewalls are 23.8 inches. Thats what it looks like if you read it.
grrr...they are on tirerack

strange stuff...if you have an accord 205/55-15 is a much better size anyway...small tires on big cars just look funny
Well, I wanted 205-50 because of the smaller sidewall obviously. It would have shown about 4% too fast. But I was willing to deal with that for the slight handling improvement. However, I had 215/40-17's and I dont feel a handling difference at all now.
i have 205/55-14 drag radials on my accord now (equivilent to 205-50-15) and my car redlines in 4th at ~92 mph
of course my tranny aint stock but i hate it...i just got some 94 alloys going on tho with some 195/65's
